Just out off curiocity is there actualy a list of things you need to have installed under Linux for PearPC to function corectly? having a list of dependencies would make it vary easy to make a simple custom Gentoo install that would simply include only what is necesary.

Hi,
This is a great idea (I just saw this thread today). Please don't forget to include wireless internet support. Especially don't forget NdisWrapper (for people with cards with only Windows drivers).
I think the best Idea for this is to actually be able to create another partition on a computer, unless it is possible to add support for specific wireless cards without having to actually install anything onto the disc.

Please make it very simple and easy to install too.
If possible, add a simple partioning utility as part of the install.

I was just wondering how development is coming along. Any updates on that?

Hi there every one

Well the only update that i have so far is that my laptop (witch is my main computer) went AWOL. I think the graphics card meltdown.... Now i am stuck with my old computer (233Mhz, 96 of RAM and ubuntu powered.....).

On other subjects, i tried to find a nice kernel to insert pearpc since creating it from scratch is kind of hard (Linus take 4 years to have a version 1.0), but no anwser so far. If any one outhere is a kernel guru and is willing to help me , please step foward.

I found one that i liked alot, called L4Ka::Pistacho [url:026d408144]http://l4ka.org/[/url:026d408144] witch is a micro-kernel (and for this project its bad), design under the L4 directive (GNU Hurd is also a micro-kernel L4) and contain C++ suport! This kernel is highly advanced and contain a verson where linux is running under it.

I tried to contact some people of the develop team but none of them replied any kind of answer. And since this is highly evolved design, with out help i can't possibly figure where to start hacking it up.

I also tried to contact Sebastian Biallas a time ago but got no answer. I think that people aren't taking this project serious. This isn't somethink that is P=NP problem. Its quite simple but requires some hard work and some time.

I hope that some of you compreend how dificult this is to me.

It's not any sort of difficulty involved.

It's just that. Well, first you lose a lot of the advantages of building an emulator in a regular Operating System environment. Namely, that you can test it over and over again without having to reboot your main computer.

Second, we can't usually just take an existing kernel and use that. That would actually be less-than-ideal. This is because all kernels out there by design have memory protection preventing programs from mapping their own memory space. POSIX especially abstracts this stuff away from us.

So we're left with the less than ideal solution that PearPC is already currently using.

Now, if we pick up a kernel in order to do this PearPC as OS thing, we have a significant advantage in that we can have that kernel do anything we want really. We can make that kernel provide hooks and system routines in order to provide the necessary functionality to allow very easily for HWMMU.

If you're not going for this, then you're really just wasting your time, as PearPC running under any decent multi-tasking Operating System should be providing the majority of running time to PearPC.

Is this still being worked on???
I would really like to be able to "boot" into mac os, i'm very happy with the current speed. Is there anyway to do that right now (even through linux...i'll use anything)? It's always cool to tell your friends and coworkers that you've obtained a special download from apple because they want you to try out all their stuff Very Happy !!!

very easy. simply add a pearpc shortcut in the startup folder (in windows), there is a site somewhere which has the instructions
Well, If I thought it was important, I would have highlighted, circled, boxed, scribbled, cut out, photocopied and laminated it!
