Incorrect.

Longhorn - A cafe in a place called Whistler (i think its a mountain) i belive.

Vista - shows you that Windows is focusing on displaying info to the user in news ways and also a new UI.

Ive have the priviledge of using Vista for a while now, and ill just say it kicks some arse.

Whistler is a Mountain in Canada.
Longhorn is the Bar at the bottom of Whistler
Blackcomb (next gen-windows) is the next mountain across

It's where all the redmond execs go each year

You're unlucky prasys...

I'm in China ATM, vLAN (symmetrical 10mbit up/down) costs like 11usd a month...(you can get around 1mbytes per sec domestically, a whole dvd image in less than half an hour)

When, uh, Vista comes out, I'll just get a few friends to *ahem* *get* Vista for me.

Back to the name. IMO Vista is awful. Why not Windows 2006 instead? (Are they saving it for Blackcomb then? Hmmm Laughing ...)

Vista...well Aero isn't looking too bad (hey it's beta 1!), personally I prefer the dumb old taskbar over dock (in os x).

Stability...well linux has holes too, not perfect. Linux is more stable because it has stricter control on privilages and security, [i:7b8bb595d7]not[/i:7b8bb595d7] because it's flawless. If there were to be a RPC-like hole, there would not be a blaster epidemic anyway - not much harm done (unless like in Linspire- you log in as root.)

I agree with that. Vista is not a very good name for an operating system. I mean, Longhorn seemed better to me, and that's how a lot of people know it. Why change?

[quote:4f2bc2fad0]
So, the conclusion is that if they would change the name for Windows Vista, I think it should be called something like Windows 12.0, or Windows G-12.
[/quote:4f2bc2fad0]

Vista is, in reality, Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.
Introducing Windows 95.
It has a trash can you can open and take things back out of again.

Imagine that.
