Wait till you all see Beta 2. Smile It's supposed to be good. Coming out december 7th.

Remember Vista Beta 1 is not public beta, neither is Beta 2. It's made available for MSDN subscribers and testers only. Smile They have their reasons... OS X 10.0 beta versions were also crap... and I think the first good OS X version was 10.2.

By the way, I'd rather Microsoft steals a good function from Apple than trying to create a totally useless function because they may not imitate Apple.

I haven't heard anyone complaining that PearPC has stolen so many ideas from IBM. Rolling Eyes

I agree 10.3 is the first decent Mac OS X release(probably because its the first one ive used lol), and Windows Vista is just another windows, remember Apple released 5 releases of OS X in the time Microsoft released XP and its service packs. Apple constantly updates it techology because it understands technology changes rapidly and the operating system needs to keep up, not be filled with holes and flaws like Windows.

Intel Pentium M 1.7Ghz
1Gb RAM
Nvidia 5650 Go
Windows XP Pro SP2
PearPC .4pre

This should work, but why doesn't it?

I'm not sure if you mean that it just needs 32 megs of VIDEO RAM, but if that's the case, you can run Vista in such cards, you just loose the fancy effects.

He means that Windows has only just released an AMD64 version. Linux and Mac could run 64-bit native ages ago.

There was a WinNT 5.1 with Itanium 64bit instruction years before Apple even thought about switching to 64bit architecture.

Apple is not even running a 64bit OS yet, they are only providing access to more RAM and just terminal BSD apps can be compiled for 64bit. Linux had 64bit a couple of years before Windows, but not by much. Windows 64bit for itanium was ready almost at the same time that XP.
