And you very rarely have problems with Linux once you know what you're doing! I've gone through many errors and such, but I've learned my way around in it but I continue to use Windows a lot because I play in gaming leagues Very Happy

For now I don't know enough about linux to use it everyday. Unfortunately there is software I like that only runs on linux, like Kwrite/Kate, but I managed to run it on Windows using Cygwin/X and a lot of disk space... didn'y try SheepShaver yet, I'll need to compile it.

Yes, Linux is a superior OS, but there is still not enough stuff for the beginner/average user, there are still a lot of things that you can only do using a command line. I would use Linux if I know more about it.

So far I have Knoppix 3.7 that I reboot on sometimes, I also have Mandriva Limited Edition 2005 on VMWare. I tried coLinux, but it makes me a BSOD after about 30 minutes, and even if I closed it.

I still use Windows as main OS, but I plan to switch in 2 or 3 years, maybe.

Introducing Windows 95.
It has a trash can you can open and take things back out of again.

Imagine that.

coLinux, imo, is not very good. But yes, there are some nice apps for Linux.

Firstly hello to everyone!

I personally still choose to use a cut down version of Windows XP just because it's so fast. I'm currently using Tiny XP Rev 11 and it uses just 50 meg of RAM when fully installed. I have to use Vista at work and hate it. I find it slow and cumbersome even after the SP updates.

I think XP, even in this day and age, still has a few more years of life left in it yet.

Peter.

Windows xp is better than windows vista. Coz windows vista is too heavy. Windows 7 is a good release after vista...

I'm for XP. I've been using it since the time I bought my first computer, so it's a good thing!
