Suggestions to improve PPC.net Package and APE

Help and discussion about our PearPC package

Postby Apple 101 » Sun Aug 28, 2005 5:02 am

Its awesome...

1. The [i:d822e3d1fe]Save Config File and Start PearPC[/i:d822e3d1fe] button doesn't work. You need to press [i:d822e3d1fe]Save Config[/i:d822e3d1fe] first and then press the [i:d822e3d1fe]Save Config File and Start PearPC[/i:d822e3d1fe] button.

EDIT: Nevermind... You need to load the config file first. Embarassed

2. You can't specify [i:d822e3d1fe]Right Alt[/i:d822e3d1fe] as a mouse toggle key.

3. You can't specify NativeCDROM / DVD ROM mode in the selections.

Thank you!

There is a new version available that fixes the problems. I'm sorry, but if you can't set your Right Alt key to toggle mouse, then it must be fixed in PearPC. But I'm sure there is a way to do it. What happens if you just set "Alt" as your mouse toggle key?

Just on a quick note:

1. You can't select/type in the boot method form. It won't let you. (ie: [i:10241f13d2]auto[/i:10241f13d2] bootmethod, etc.)

2. When I press Alt, nothing happens. It defaults Alt+A, which doesn't work either. At the moment I'm using F12.

At the moment you can move the mouse to the right side of the edit box to select it. This will be fixed with the next version.

That's a problem with PearPC, not APE. Please report that bug on the official PearPC website: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=65 ... unc=browse

Just a quick note:

CPU & Memory: Shouldn't there be an option for DFoesch's new Altivec instruction, 0x000c0201 as well?

Image Files: Although the warning about 2nd IDE Controller is there, not enabling to use them, still doesn't fix the issue (with PearPC 0.4). Manual uncommenting/deleting of those lines is necessary to start 0.4.
