Mmm... That sounds like a drivers conflict... You should uninstall every single driver file signed by ATI, reinstall latest DirectX runtime and, then, install latest ATI driver. Oh, by the way : get rid of any "Powermonitor", driver "enhancer" and stupid "i'll stay in your RAM forever to annoy" thingies.
2011 : I'm no longer using PearPC... It was fun, though :) Thanks to all contributors !

Ever since I got SP1 (as far as I can tell) i've been having problems running Direct3D games and apps. OpenGL games still run fine and this has really got me puzzled.
What happens: I load up the game I wish to play, for example Operation Flashpoint. I get into the main game (where Direct3D is used) and the game will crach the computer randomly. Sometimes it returns you to the desktop and others it just completely locks up. I cant run MadOnion 3dMark because that crashes the same due to Direct3D. Here are my specs, I have all the latest drivers, please help me if you can.

AMD Athlon 1Ghz
VIA VT8363 - latest 4in1 drivers
VIA KT133 Chipset
WinXP Home SP1 - all known updates
nVidia GeForce 2 MX - 30.87 drivers
40GB 7,200rpm - this wont affect anything
256mb SDRAM
DirectX 8.1b

I also have other problems with XP, i'm not happy with it at all. If any of you have similar cases or problems with Direct3D games then please post here, any solutions would mean alot to me as I have £400 worth of Direct3D only games that I would dearly like to continue playing.

I see not worry, fans are still unseparated Example, my monitor but the LCD is displayed using onbard grapics. I am, however, PCI-E, you're not going to use, I just like a box on the requirments for PCI voltage reading of 3.3V checked.
