iChat is crashing the whole PearPC for me after I finish Setup. The console reads:
[code:5cc47545c0]<Error>stfiwx?[/code:5cc47545c0]

What does this mean?

Adobe InDesign 2.0 CE and Adobe ImageReady CS should be here too.

Because I installed Tiger when you still needed Panther. So I used NativeCDROM and loaded Panther CD2 into Mac and opened ie.pkg (or something like that) or you can download the .pkg file and use file sharing.

Host = Windows XP.
Guest = OSX 10.4.1 under pearpc Prasys build.

I have installed Microsoft Office 2004, full install.
That's Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Entourage (that's their Outlook) and MSN Messenger.
After the install i applied all available patches and service packs.

Word and Excel are not starting.
Just the splash screen is shown, and then they hang.
A forced Quit is necessary.
Powerpoint, Entourage and MSN are running fine.

I noticed that after the install of Office, i couldn't run anymore Safari.
When the progress bar of loading a page is about 3/4, Safari just hangs - nothing is shown in the window.

Found out that the install of Office has crippled the fonts folder(s).
Also the Font Book can't be opened anymore - it crashes.

I applied Microsoft KB 313535
[url:f596910b74]http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;313535[/url:f596910b74]
to no avail.

I deleted all fonts in the 3 folders in the affected disk,
and copied the fonts from a good disk.
It didn't help.
Safari still not launching, Font Book crashes, Word & Excel crash.

Can anyone confirm that a full install of Microsoft Office 2004 with SP1 can cause such trouble...?

Correction:
i forgot the folder HD:Library:Fonts.
There were still more than 80 fonts, from the Office install.
i emptied that folder.
Now i can open again Font Book - it's showing 19 items.
In Font Book Preferences, i set "Computer" for Default Install Location with a check for "Validate fonts before installing".

And Safari can run also again.

But Word and Excel are (of course) still crashing.
I have to find out in which folder i should put the Office fonts.
Or maybe a few of these fonts are corrupt...

Let's try to import the Office fonts manually.

They are stored here:
http://www.deblaere.com/Mac25.jpg[/url:d2e4b7d781]

We start the add procedure in Font Book:
http://www.deblaere.com/Mac26.jpg[/url:d2e4b7d781]

We select all the Office fonts and click Open:
http://www.deblaere.com/Mac27.jpg[/url:d2e4b7d781]

OSX will now validate the fonts.
It comes out that 18 Office fonts are marked with errors:

[url:d2e4b7d781]http://www.deblaere.com/Mac29.jpg[/url:d2e4b7d781]

The others are accepted, so now we have 77 fonts in our Font Folder.

Under the rejected fonts we see Times New Roman and Arial.
We all know that a freshly installed Word needs Times New Roman, and Excel needs Arial to start up.
Since these fonts are not available in the Fonts Folder, both Word and Excel will crash on startup.

Now let's see how we could solve this...
