Apparently, there is a problem with PearPC's RAM allocation on some machines, or whatever it does (that's what memory is, after all!). A simple solution that worked for me was to change the RAM usage down from 128 MiB to 96 MiB. The hex value for this is 0x6000000, so the line in the configuration file becomes:
memory_size=0x6000000
Don't forget to un-comment it (take out the #) or the line will be ignored, and end up defaulting to 128 MiB RAM. If you wanted to know (I [i]know[i] you'll want to), I have a Toshiba Satellite A110 Notebook from 2006 with:
--> Microsoft Windows
--> 2GiB Shared RAM (256 MiB to Video, the rest to the machine)
--> An Intel Celeron M Processor @ 1.5 GHz
--> A 1280x800 monitor
--> A 40 GiB SCSI Hard Disk
(To be more specific with which version of Windows I'm Using, I used Windows XP Home Edition, SP2 (and it worked), and I also used Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, SP0 (and it also worked). I used the default configuration file that came with PearPC 0.4, and I only changed the pci_ide0_master_image to "C:\PearPC\6gb.img", and the pci_id0_slave_image to "C:\PearPC\OSX4_1.iso". The OSX4_1.iso is the image of the Mac OS X 10.4.10 installer disc 1 (it's the gray one). The hard disk image was made from the self-extracting file that comes with the os-emulation.net PearPC tutorial.)
I have to warn you, my PearPC still doesn't work. I have solved the RAM problem, but PearPC "cannot find the boot file" when i try to boot from the iso of the gray mac DVD.
