Now that's a cool good news :)
Also, did you see (pearpc devel list) someone has managed to enhance MMU calls ?
2011 : I'm no longer using PearPC... It was fun, though :) Thanks to all contributors !
By special request, the config-file generator is back online

Yes, I know him from IRC and another forum. He's developing a hobby operating system and was porting it to PowerPC.

So,

How is are project going, any news, any updates?

Has anyone tried to run AOS4 on pearpc?

Also, you need to knaw that Acube is starting to sell another Amiga os update AOS 4.1.

So OS is still very nuch alive, but hardware (exept old AnigaOne-s) is not available....

Solve this and we can all benifit....

(It does not neccesary be a piracy issue, because if someone succeds to run OS4 (or OS4.1) under emulation, that would give option to those who want to buy that product, but doesn't have hardware to run it on. They could run OS4 under emulation, and when (and if) new hardware becomes available, they could transfer oS, files and settings on it...)

Now when AOS 4.1 is available for new line of SAM440 boards, and Pegasos 2 range of PPC boards, why not to build PearPC emulation?

Are there any capable developers for this?

Now that MorphOS can be run on an Mac Mini, will it be easier to port it to PearPC?

I think it would benefit the emulator if it can use other OSes such as AmigaOS 4 and the latest version of MorphOS. It would be neat to use MorphOS on a PC. MorphOS is a very good OS.

Someone tried to run it and he got this error:

start: 512
[CPU/CPU] execution started at 00200000
[PPC/DEC] Bad opcode: 00000000 (0:0)
singlestep set from ppc_dec.cc:94, info: unknown instruction

AmigaOS4.1 and MorphOS running under emulation on an Intel i7 would be fantastic.
There is also a PowerPC version of AROS, an open-source AmigaOS 3.x clone ported to several architectures, which would be interesting to run the PPC version under PearPC (a bounty was planned for some MorphOS compatibility on AROS/PPC, for instance).

There is UAE for emulating the original Amiga hardware (Motorola 68k-based), the Windows fork WinUAE is by far the most advanced.
This can comfortably run up to AmigaOS 3.9, as well as the new 68k Amiga port of AROS (which provides a free AmigaOS3.1 Kickstart replacement included in WinUAE).

Unfortunately for PPC Amiga fans, the WinUAE developer Toni Wilen does not consider PPC Amigas to be "real Amigas", so WinUAE will never support PPC and AmigaOS 4.x (or MorphOS).
As this is a very difficult platform to the original Amiga, Toni suggested that the best way to emulate AmigaOS4.x on a PC would be - wait for it - to patch/modify PearPC. (Another possibility may be QEMU.)

This thread hasn't seen much action though, I hope this is possible some day. I would love to see all Amigas and Amiga-like systems potentially runnable on my PC under emulation.
