Would someone be willing to make an auto expanding Disk?

Kind of like VPC or VMWare's disk images where they use up only as much as they need.

Just a thought.

I think it's possible...

EDIT: I put it on my server: [url:ee6c45c284]http://www.tuxtalk.org/buildhdd.exe[/url:ee6c45c284]

While this is a nifty utility, I believe what Kenta is referring to is the ability to grow a harddrive. In VPC, you don't set a HD size, it just uses what it needs unlike the BuildHDD.exe utility where you create say a 15GB file, but it only shows the size of actually used space, but when it hits the 15GB size, it is done. With vpc, it just expands and there is no limit (that I know of) and the OS recognizes the size without the need to reformat/repartition.

You know what? that's true... why not just set it to some huge file size and it will grow as required? What sort of dangers are there with that, and are they any different than what's offered by other emulators that support growable hard files?

If you do so, you WILL GAIN A VERY VERY BIG harddrive image after a long time of use, because deleted files are kept in the imagefile. In addition to that, you cannot use any "secure-delete" applications like Norton UnErase, because they're writing to every byte...

I think the only danger you could encounter with a 1TB harddisk image is that it will take ages to format. Twisted Evil

PearPC won't take over a 32GB hard drive (roughly) because of the H/T/C thing...
