Real eMac with AOL Broadband in the UK

Postby carcus » Sun Jun 26, 2005 7:46 am

I was happily working in my workshop the other day when some guy turns up with an eMac (800Mhz) installed with Panther, an AOL/BT Voyager 105 USB ADSL modem and an AOL CDROM which only has Windows files on it.

He phoned AOL and they said they don't do an Apple disk only a windows disk.

Has luck would have it the BT Voyager site has got drivers for Apple/Mac so i downloaded the .SIT file on windows and burnt it to a CDROM and installed it on the eMac.

I evently got it signing in on the AOL OS X he had previously download on dial up modem and it's now all working.

Only problem i did find is the sign in box for the normal BT Voyager sign in pops up twice but i just click cancel both times and it still works ok just using the AOL sign in.
. . . when you have excluded the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
