same errors
[/quote:258af23d05]

yup...

I've just tried it step for step and it's working fine and dandy on my Tiger DVD ISO for me with the............

nvram_file = "C:\PearPC\nvram"

I even download from the links for PearPC 0.40Pre and the 3GB hard disk and it's all ok.

I think you may possibly have a corrupted ISO image.
. . . when you have excluded the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I've read all the wiki's and the topics related to installation, I cant say that I have a problem (yet!) but I'm waiting for my files to convert into img's via the tool. My question is (please don't flame me Sad ) I have 4 cd-rom ISO's copied from my friend which actually owns the OS and I wanted to know if it was possible to still do this via 4 cd's? I know dont use piracy but I'd rather be honest with everyone and to tell you the truth altho I didnt download this via a torrent or anything, I am only using this for evaluation purposes as I planned on buying a nice little Apple laptop soon but I know nothing about the OS or the core itself (this is why I'm here) could someone please explain if this is possible and if I can do this with 4 CD's how would I go about doing it? Embarassed

Edit: Do'h almost forgot tring to install a copy of Tiger OS X with no previous OS ever installed on Win XP Pro.

Scratch that just got it working but it stays on a grey screen with an Apple logo on it then it switches to a circle with a slash on it as if something went wrong... I think it's when it tries to read off cd #2 since it takes a while as if it's reading before hitting that point, could someone verify? And if so how can I set it up so it reads all my cd's, is there a way to make a pattern of some sort so after cd one runs out it switches to cd 2 and so on?

The circle slash is not a indication of needing the second cd, it is an indication that the ISO is bad usually...

This doesn't necessarily mean the cd image is bad, it just means something is wrong. Maybe OS X tried to eject the first CD, in order to request the next one, but can't, because PearPC is constantly reinserting it, and it finally gave up.

@Sebrina: To see where it fails, set prom_env_machargs = "-v" in the boot.txt file. You might also try using the cds directly - I think the Native CD mechanism supports changing cds while PearPC is running. And for trying MacOS before you buy it, I think many Apple dealers will quite happily let you do that.

I found a solution to it thanks to everyone who answered, I simply ran the iso file threw a little java application I found to "fix" the file (I assume it fixed the file size). OS X was orginally burned threw a PC machine here at home not at my friends house where the Mac machine is so after reading a bit I found that it might need a little fixing after doing so all went well.

PS: Yes any Apple dealer would more than likely let you play with the OS and its applications but I feel extremely weird in a store playing with a PC having ppl looking at me, (it's just the way I am) but thanks to everyone who replied and I wish everyone the best this project is THE best emulation script I've ever seen, thanks again and reguards.

Hi,

I haven't played with PearPC for about 2 months and today I decided to download a recent build and test it against a Tiger ISO. Surprise surprise it booted fine and installed! Very Happy

Notes:
- I used G4 emulation
- I had Realtek emulation on
- after installation, Tiger didn't boot. I watched the verbose boot on an infinite loop waiting for IFC (whatever that is)
- NO extra steps needed!
