I'd like to see it be faster for those of us who are stuck with old PentiumII 400MHz comps

"how to set up bridging"
[/quote:55cf387e55]I have no clue how you could force XP to do this sort of thing...

I am trying to Create an installer, with a config file creater\editor and HD Maker. ill host it somewhere so n00bs can use PearPC easily.
My wishes are pretty much G4-like performance and DVD burning

[quote="Jackal05":f412d7b9e9]Easier networking
[/quote:f412d7b9e9]It's not a matter of making it easier- it's already pretty easy. It's more a matter of making it fool proof. Because of all the different versions of OpenVPN for example, it's just confusing, but I wouldn't saay that it needs to be easier.

Guru, it is easy enough, but what I'm saying is to have it be as easy as not having to configure anything -- 0 configuration -- at all or install any other third party software. I'm not begging or asking, I'm just wishing. Razz

Would it be possible to make PearPC be bootable all on it's own. Like a optimized linux distro. Wouldn't that cut down on the overhead from the host OS?

Hmmmm... maybe an easy PearPC installer, where you choose what configuration options and the installer creates HD images etc....
I agree that network setup should be made much easier. One of the most common questions is "how to set up bridging". That could be avoided if network setup was easier.

I swear the god, I saw a link in the french (or was it german) forums to a site containing some automatic installer, that gave you the ability to make the virtual drive (you gave the size), configure settings such as screen reslutio., and a bunch of other stuff. If I can find it I'll show it to you. Thus not what you're looking for it probably is the closest.

You can't not configure anything... Because you always have to install your OS, and that's where half the people get caught up... Nothing we can really do to make that bit easier...

Yah, but it still does the initial settup and enables the user to get going afterwards.
And in a sense I don't want PearPC to be the easiest thing to set up since it will get out of hand and just explode and it may just get shut down, I don't know.
PearPC 0.3.0, Mac OS X 10.3 Panther on an AMD Athlon 3200+ XP, 512 MB of RAM, Windows XP pro.

My wish list:

floppy support
CDrom support
second mouse button and scroll wheel support
faster system bus
sound
...and whatever causes photoshop to only display an all black image is fixed Laughing
