Virginia Tech Shooting

Postby zarusboy » Tue Apr 17, 2007 10:01 pm

When I heard it on the news I was shocked. 31 people killed and they were all student. I thought at first it was a terrorist attack but when I found out that it was a student at the school it made me somewhat mad. How could someone be so disturbed that you could kill so many people? Its one thing to commit suicide but to kill other innocent people that have nothing to do with you is even worse. The student's said that when he wrote things they would be sick and twisted and that he would distance himself from everyone else. I just needed to say something about this, becuase it makes me question my own safety at school. I feel bad for all those poor people, and all the 33 families that have to cope with the death. What are your thoughts about it? Please reply

I think it's disgusting that anyone can be as sick as that. Nobody should have the right to take another person's life, let alone 31 people's.

Yes it certainly sad that this sort of thing can happen. Obviously people in the US will debate their gun laws or the lack thereof but I doubt anything will change. I really don't see why people in a civilized country needs guns, offcourse some say if guns were allowed on campus then maybe they could of prevented the massacre but that's another story.

today msnbc got a package from him.. and i saw the footage, he didnt not show even the slightest sign of emotion as he read his speech. However now the media has to cover it all the time instead of letting it be, that is starting to bother me because this is exactically wat he wanted to happen. And everyone is talking in 20/20 hindsight such as how to predict this in the future.. the thing is you can't. No one knows what goes on in some peoples minds sometimes they can just snap but in this case it was well thought out. I think we should make another ammendment to the constitution on part 4 "the right to bear arms" not to give anyone's freedom away but I think it might need some changes. I'm glad people share my views I was kind of nervous posting this on the contravercy that might arise :\

Hi,

As I'm not an american citizen, I will not discuss about the american constitution, but, as a french citizen, I'm pretty sure the right to have a weapon should be granted to psychologicaly tested persons, excluding teenagers... I'll never wear a killing weapon, even if I had the right to do so. The most dangerous object I may have some day on me, assuming I would live in a *very* dangerous place -which is not the case-, is a lacrymogen spray. Efficient an non-lethal.

Whilst I'm against guns, not being American myself it's not my place to preach my anti-gun views. However if you must have guns for self protection then what's wrong with a standard six shooter. I don't see why anyone would need semi-auto weapons unless you plan on going on a rampage.

I was shocked to see this. I was lost for words, period. Those 32 students should've been left alone; such gunmen had no right to do what they did. Either they already paid their debts or they will.
